Writing Senior

Location: McLean, VA


The Operational Resiliency Communications Senior will work closely with Directors, the VP of Operational Resiliency to develop and implement communication plans, provide executive communications, writing and other communication requirements to support the overarching organizational strategy, people, culture and needs of the division.

Key Functions
• Serve as a communication planner and writer for Operational Resiliency
• Ability to partner and consult with internal customers at all levels, including executives, understand their needs, and recommend appropriate communication solutions
• Ensure all communications adhere to brand, AP style guide and core narratives
• Select and develop the right mix of communication channels to meet audience needs and achieve customer goals
• Manage all steps of developing a communication strategy and writing assignments from gathering information, conducting interviews, to writing, reviewing, editing, proofreading and publishing stories. Follow-up to measurement effectiveness and provide recommendations
• Apply visual, journalistic, and branding techniques for effective and engaging storytelling
• Write clear, crisp messages that explain new or updated processes, organizational goals, objectives and strategy, accomplishments and services
• Write and edit presentations, reports and for executives about organizational and business unit topics
• Research, write, and edit internal feature articles
• Demonstrated ability to create and manage multiple communication plans and writing assignments to meet strict deadlines with minimal supervisory oversight
• Partner and coordinate any Enterprise Operation or external communication with the Enterprise Operations Strategic Communications Manager


Qualifications
o Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or another relevant subject
o At least 7 years of related experience in an employee communications or corporate communications environment supporting enterprise-wide projects, leaders and teams
o Ability to develop and implement communication plans
o Exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
o Superb writing, editing and proofreading skills, attention to detail
o Ability to project plan, coordinate and execute work within deadlines
o Knowledge of MS Office 365, share point, social media and content management
o Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced, high profile atmosphere.
