Product Manager III (Remote/MTC)

Location: Washingon, DC


As an SEO Product Manager, you will:

  • Assess the situation
    • Perform technical SEO audits, investigate into logs and make relevant recommendations.
    • Determine scope of new SEO projects in coordination with business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities.
    • Perform competitive analysis to benchmark our performance and identify gaps.
    • Identify content theme opportunities based on keyword research and competitive analysis, and partner closely with the global content teams to drive SEO content priorities.
       
  • Develop a roadmap
    • Develop and proactively own the roadmap for search engine optimization efforts and establish the end-to-end process for activating these efforts.
      • Develop, manage and implement holistic SEO strategies.
      • Create detailed product requirements for SEO initiatives
    • Define requirements, tasks, acceptance criteria and resources associated to SEO strategy including both general and keyword specific
    • Establish a framework to measure the effectiveness of SEO strategy in increasing traffic and rankings on the website.
       
  • Partner cross-functionally to implement and manage
    • Partner with other marketing managers, UX, and development teams to ensure all aspects of a project are well-thought-out and measured
    • Work with the management team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented.
    • Work cross-functionally with Web Development, Web Engineering, Content, Analytics, and Marketing teams to push priority SEO projects through to completion.
    • Provide specialized technical guidance to ensure initiatives accomplish specific SEO goals
    • Oversee the technical search engine optimization efforts, including standardizing our current website audit format and process, establishing and documenting technical SEO best practices, identifying and addressing errors and optimization opportunities to improve site performance, implementing structured data/schema, and aligning with teams to drive technical SEO changes that will enhance our domain visibility across search engines.
       
  • Analyze and provide recommendations
    • Pro-actively analyze SEO performance and conducts ongoing technical audits, identifies technical limitations, analyzes site health and recommend and implement strategies.
    • Identify opportunities and analyze key performance indicators in the marketplace to improve search visibility, and consistently improve engagement resulting in qualified traffic through organic search.
    • Leverage dashboard data and reports to evaluate the degree of success of SEO efforts to develop and recommend SEO initiatives and campaigns.
    • Perform content gap analysis and create recommendations in coordination with elements and structure of websites and web pages.
    • Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels (Local, Universal, Voice, Image) in order to improve rankings.
    • Build SEO reporting dashboards to track and effectively communicate performance of SEO initiatives to business partners.
    • Execute tests, collect and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights in order to create monthly, quarterly and yearly SEO strategies.
    • Perform ongoing analysis of SEO trends & leverage SEO tools to identify and communicate out opportunities to expand or improve organic visibility.
       
  • Communicate
    • Monitor and communicate project updates to team members and stakeholders
    • Provide regular SEO performance summaries to Marketing stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leading SEO initiatives and strategies including experience in the execution of SEO recommendations with a proven track record of results.
  • Strong understanding of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) process.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strategic, analytical, organized, and efficient – able to manage multiple SEO projects and priorities at one time.
  • Mastery of SEO best practices, and proficient in technical SEO initiatives.
  • Understand the integration opportunities between organic and paid search.
  • Strong proficiency with web analytics tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge in analyzing and interpreting complex data.
  • Able to perform in depth keyword research and industry research.
  • A proven track record of growing rankings, traffic, and or revenue through SEO tactics and experimentation.
  • Experience with SEO tools and web analytics applications
  • Strong understanding of search engine algorithms and strict adherence to white-hat SEO techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Drupal a plus
  • Derive insights from huge datasets, mining logs or crawling the web as necessary.

  • BS/BA Degree Required
  • 7+ years of proven experience in managing search engine optimization efforts in-house or at an agency
  • Solid working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Solid working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically and identify and resolve problems.
