8167 - Agile Project Manager

Location: Reston, VA

The client is seeking an IT Project Manager II to apply project management methodology during all phases of the software application development project cycle. The Agile Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating agile project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering agile projects that provide exceptional business value to consumers. The PM will need to provide overall direction across various teams and functions in order to successfully deliver projects.


Job Responsibilities:

Develop, track and manage project budget, project plans, timelines and scope.

Work closely with project sponsors and stakeholders to understand prioritization of features and target delivery timelines.

Communicate across functional scrum teams and stakeholders to define agile commitments, and track progress towards key milestones.

Facilitate senior level meetings with technical and business leaders

Facilitate the consumer testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures.

Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized, and required project documents/artifacts are produced.

Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors.



Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.

PMP or PMI certification.

4-5 years experience.

Proven project management experience.

Customer-centric mindset with strong stakeholder engagement abilities.

People management and team building skills.

Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.

Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.

Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions.

Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.
