8189 - Instructional Designer, Senior Level

Location: McLean, VA


Responsible for developing and implementing training programs to support the internal business needs of the Single-Family division and will also liaise with Freddie Mac University, the corporate training function, and external suppliers for training courses and materials. Develops instructional material and selects suitable delivery methods or training aids. Ensures that programs are aligned with the Single-Family division's business goals.  Provides resolutions to an extensive range of complicated problems. Solutions are innovative, thorough, and practicable. Works under limited direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is evaluated upon completion for adequacy in satisfying objectives. Represents the division as one of the principal customer contacts on contracts and often performs project leadership role. Interacts with internal division personnel on significant technical matters frequently requiring coordination across business units within the division. College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred. Typically has 5 - 7 years related experience.

Additional requirements include proven experience and ability in the following disciplines:

•Instructional Design – design and develop formal and informal learning solutions using a variety of methods.  Knowledge of and experience using all components of the ADDIE/SAM model.  Work with internal subject matter experts to create Single-Family specific content. 
•Sourcing of quality off the shelf course offerings - Initiate vendor relationships and gather pertinent implementation details to determine the feasibility of offering selected courses onsite.
•Project Management Skills – Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with limited supervision.
•Performance Consulting Skills - Ability to partner with internal Single-Family clients to determine appropriate performance improvement solution based on actual need of the client group.
•Training Delivery – Ability to create a positive learning climate through training facilitation: convey all learning objectives, encourage participation and build learner motivation to ensure learning outcomes are met.
•High level of proficiency in desktop applications:  MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and end-user SharePoint skills
•Communication Skills - Excellent verbal & written communications 
•Solid time management and organization skills, with an attention to detail
•The education and experience requirements for this position are: A degree in Human Performance Improvement, Instructional Design or a related discipline is preferred.  An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired will also be considered. 
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in a combination of Instructional Design with one or more of the following areas: Performance Consulting, Training Project Management, Training Delivery


Preferred experience:
•Content migration experience with Salesforce
•Experience using GoAnimate or other similar micro learning software
