8446 - Director of Data Governance

Location: Bethesda, MD



Data Governance - responsible for developing data governance control assurance processes.

Records and Content Management - responsible for defining a consistent approach to records retention and protection of our critical data assets.

Data Management Strategy - responsible for developing and managing enterprise data policies, standards, and processes.

Data Loss Prevention Strategy – effectively partner with IT and business owners to ensure implementation of the DLP Strategy.

Data Quality & meta data management - responsible for developing processes so that the organization may fully understand the nature and quality of the data under management, as well as mechanisms to evaluate, prevent, and remediate defects, to assure that the quality of data meets business purposes and the organization’s strategic objectives.

Data Operations - ensure that processes are designed to help an organization ensure that data requirements are fully specified; data are traceable through all of the business processes that produce or consume it; data changes and their processes are managed; and data sources are selected based on requirements, well controlled, and verified as authoritative.

Platform and Architecture - consult on the design and development of an optimal data layer and data storage to meet present and future business objectives.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related work experience; Master's in Computer Science or Business preferred.

Minimum 5 years experience working in Financial Services Information Management/Data acquisition; 7 years in Project Management a plus.

5+ years establishing and leading data management and data governance initiatives.

Knowledge of AWS Cloud services and catalogue of products especially in the way of data storage capabilities, databases, reporting and analytics.

Proficient in Oracle

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office including Query and Database Access Tools.
