8447 - IT Analyst (SOA, Middleware Unix)

Description

IT Analyst III will provide technical expertise in the area of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), on a Messaging & Component Services Operations team. This team is responsible for working with projects/initiatives to on-board them to our supported services and supporting them in all lifecycle environments, as well as supporting a number of internal development/upgrade initiatives.

 

Key Job Functions

  • 5-7 years hand on experience in troubleshooting and isolating performance and complex issues that are experienced within Middleware environments infrastructure, Configuration Management & deployment, Monitoring/Management etc.
  • Perform Liaison role for team providing technical guidance to customers integrating with Messaging & Component Services.
  • Perform Log analysis and provide root cause resolution
  • Monitor environment/applications and respond to automated alerts
  • Document standard operation of systems in environment
  • Provide technical support to business partners and system users following SLA guidance
  • Perform analysis in preparation of patch and migrations
  • Execute migration and shakeout procedures; typically on weekends
  • Analyze, resolve, and co-ordinate technical problems with various platform teams
  • Maintain Remedy incident tickets and service request cases in a timely and efficient manner

Must-have skills:

  • Strong experience with enterprise application integration products; Middleware, message queueing
  • UNIX scripting skill to automate day to day operations
  • Consult with various upstream/downstream applications for Integration with Messaging & Component Services
  • Strong working knowledge of modern Java-related/SOA/integration related frameworks
  • Ability to develop design patterns for specific technical problems
  • Experience with Oracle DB and SQL
  • Clear communication
  • Must be able to create detailed documentation, diagrams, and artifacts

Preferred skills

  • Experience in Remedy or any Change Control tool is plus
  • Experience with messaging products like Tibco EMS or MQ
  • Experience with XML Gateway product
  • Working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and associated concepts such as XML Schemas, WS specifications, SOAP, Service Mediation/ESB, Policy Management, Governance, Messaging, etc…
