8464 - IT Project Manager Senior

Location: McLean, VA

This Project Management Senior position is an opportunity to join the Delivery Services Department in the Multifamily Technology Division at Freddie Mac. This fast paced team interacts with all areas within Freddie Mac’s multi-family business.  The team works in close partnership with the business to provide an excellent experience and knowledge to our internal and external customers. This team is responsible for the development and implementation of applications to meet our business objectives.  The individual should have a strong ability to adapt and apply IT expertise to a varying array of issues relating to build out and maintenance of the platforms and integrations. The individual is expected to work under limited direction and independently determine and develop approaches to solution high value outcomes. The individual would work as part of a high performing agile team, so demonstrating that you live and embracing the Agile culture is a must.   The individual will be responsible for the planning and execution of significant IT initiative projects, leading matrix and cross functional teams to achieve project objectives, and regularly report on status.  The PM Senior will manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and project risks and issues. The PM Senior will also act as a leader and mentor other junior team members.

Responsibilities include:
•    Proficiently document acceptance criteria in a business consumable format as well as documenting them leveraging advanced Gherkin.
•    Communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely in both verbal and written forms
•    Ability to develop, manage, and report on metrics toward achievement of plans/projects
•    Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends
•    Act as mentor to junior team members
•    Work closely with developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
•    Become subject matter expert across assigned domain and applications with general understanding of upstream and downstream interfaces
•    Identify process gaps and recommending process improvements across project teams and delivery services by challenging status quo, fostering innovative thinking and engaging key stakeholders

•    8-10 years Technical Project Management experience
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent work experience
• Lives the Agile Mindset and is an advocate for promoting the culture surrounding it
•    Strong facilitation skills and process driven analytical skills
•    Extensive Experience with Agile Project Execution and DevSecOps Tool sets

•    Understand Freddie Mac Multifamily IT systems is a plus
•    Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage assignments with varying timelines
•    Self-motivated, independent, and works with minimal direction
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience, along with a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
•    Application Skills: MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Visio, SharePoint
•    Proven track record of quickly learn and assimilate new processes, procedures, and concepts
•    Proven track record of working and managing in a matrix organization
