IT Project Manager SeniorĀ (Temp to Perm)

Position Overview
Works with Scrum Team to ensure scrum best practices are followed from the initiation through delivery of SFSS IT projects. Serves as a liaison between the product owner and development team to ensure requirements are delivered and key milestones are met. Facilitates the management of the product backlog and coordinates with other Scrum Masters to identify and manage cross-team dependencies. Closely tracks and monitors the scrum team’s deliverable and reports metrics at the iteration, project and program levels. Facilitates meetings for backlog refinement, iteration review and planning. Removes impediments impacting the team’s ability to meet their commitment.

Responsibilities include:
•Act as the primary liaison with multiple Business /IT stakeholders responsible for managing the scope, requirements and dependencies across multiple workstreams and initiatives.
•Perform data issue/problem management, research potential data exceptions, and initiative/project engagement: data analysis, leveraging current sources including databases, data and process models, business requirements and other artifacts.
•Collaborate with Scrum Masters/PMs to produce Project related as well as application health related metrics and dashboards.
•Act as a liaison between business area and technical support teams to ensure all parties have complete understanding of issues/requests, requirements and process steps to ensure alignment and successful outcome.
•Partner with stakeholders, L2, and L3 support to help facilitate the triage of production incidents and communications around it. Monitor the Prod Support issues and provide timely communications while collaborating with stakeholders.
•Follow established processes, procedures, and directions.
•Responsible for creating and maintaining process documentation and other relevant records as needed.
•Analyze business requirements and identify, communicate and drive mitigation of risks and issues.
•Mentoring and coaching Scrum team to instill agile values and principles and lead by example
•Facilitating productivity by removing impediments team will encounter, mediating through conflicts, helping team to make decisions and adhering to continues improvement principles– Supporting and educating Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
•Keeping Scrum process on track and passing it to the team as self-organization matures– Helping team adhere to the best engineering practices and makes sure everybody understand technical debt concept
•Leveraging data to measuring & monitoring progress– Ensure agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, should be able to be a voice of reason and authority

•Support management of project scope, schedule and budget for assigned projects independently and as part of a team
•Manage and track action items, issues, and risks associated with assigned projects. Follow up on open items to ensure resolution and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
•Manage required project artifacts consistent with Freddie Mac project management methodology (e.g., charters and scope, workplans, resource planning, issue logs)
•Support weekly status meetings, provide input for updates to management on regular basis
•Support change requests
•Work in close partnership with internal stakeholders, including close partnership with IT
•Manage project artifacts consistent with Freddie Mac project management methodology (e.g., business requirements/user stories, test scripts/results, issue logs)

The ideal candidate:
•Has agile mindset, understands what’s behind agile values and principles– Understands Scrum framework very well and understands values that each artifact/role/event brings
•Has experience in the Scrum Master role for at least five years– Should be able to facilitate discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches
•Software development background is a plus– Is capable of completing independently diverse/complex work with minimal direction, diverse interactions, and knowledge resource
•Is creative, innovative and motivated to continually learn about Agile and Scrum– Has excellent communication skills, written and verbal, strong team player– Has experience working with global teams
•Understanding of modern software development & engineering practices: continuous integration, continuous delivery, Lean methodologies

•5-7 years of project management and scrum master experience
•Must have strong understanding of the software development life cycle and have a proven track record as the Scrum Master for multiple teams delivering complex technical projects
•Experience creating release plans using agile best practices. (SAFe experience a plus)
•Ability to coach and provide direction to team in the initial stages of adopting scrum methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
•Experience using Agile Tools to manage backlog and track iterations, experience with Jira is required.
•Version One, JIRA Administration Expertise experience in JIRA, V1, Rally and similar tools
•Experience with Planview or similar Project Management tools
•Bachelor’s Degree
•Scrum Master Certification is required
