Mortgage Risk Specialist

Location: McLean, VA


General Description:  
Seeking a consultant with knowledge of and experience with the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Regulations (BSA/AML) to facilitate the enhancement of and documentation of certain BSA.AML/Fraud processes within the Multifamily Division.      
Responsibilities:
•Develop methodology for data analytics based on set criteria at the property level
•Compare various financial documents (rent rolls, borrower financials) over time; identify outlier information
•Develop analytics across multiple properties owned by the same borrower based on a set criterion
•Develop standardized templates for data reviews and for fraud investigations (using excel, word)
•Write procedures & update documentation (department level procedures)
•Develop management reporting/ dashboards for ongoing operations

Education and Experience
•Knowledge of US Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/AML regulation and "Know Your Customer" methodology (Customer Due Diligence (CDD) vs Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD))
•CAMS or CFE certification preferred
•Prior experience with commercial underwriting or commercial servicing processes and product types 
•Prior Freddie Mac experience preferred, preferably in the Multifamily or Enterprise Risk Management Division
•Data analytics of rent rolls and other commercial mortgage/property financial information
•Intermediate experience with Excel, including development of templates
•Experience with risk taxonomy and gap assessment methodologies
•Experience in writing department level procedures
